Spring Cleaning #30: Take a Load Off Our Drives

It's not the first time when I'm checking the P:, S: and Z: drive, but I never worked with them. For the first time placed a file on S: drive and after that I deleted. At work I don't have a personal computer so I can't work with P:, S: and Z: drive as much and I can'tdelete something what is not mine.

In September 1956 IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first computer with a hard disk drive (HDD). The HDD weighed over a ton and stored 5MB of data.

Spring Cleaning #29: Email

I have a personal Yahoo account for awhile. I like to be organized so i don't like to keep old emails. I regularly purge my "trash" and bulk email folder.

About HCPL account....to be honest I don't like to use this account for personal purpose. I have very few addresses in my address book. I read my emails every day and I'm looking back to the old one trying to delete them.

Spring Cleaning # 28 Don't Clutter up Expensive Cyberspace

I start reading about GTD few days ago, it is useful, specially for those people who doesn't like to be organized.GTD is the popular shorthand for "Getting Things Done", the groundbreaking work-life management system and book by David Allen that transforms personal overwhelm and overload into an integrated system of stress-free productivity.
The principles are:
- Collect
- Procces
- Organize
- Review
- Do
I open an account with Google calendar, in this one I can put notes, check schedules and friends birthdays.
I was curios to know about "Remember the milk" and I found it very interestng and this one can be added to Google Calendar, cool.

# 26 Making or ( listening) Music Together

I took a look at the websites, they all have something in common "Music". All of them are interesting, and you can create a lot of things with them.
This is my first time to hear about MOG. In my opinion,Mog is a social networking site for the music enthusiast. It connects music lovers with the similar musical tastes with new music and other users. With music as the focus, Mog users can customize a personal page similar to TagWorld or MySpace.
IMEEM - Now most people join this site just for music sharing and playlist capabilities, but just a few want to upload videos and photos.
QLOUD, provides the music experience consumers want: unlimited on-demand, free music from an endless library.

# 25 Am I a music pirate? It's hard to know...

Once I downloaded the music in the computer, I start burning a CD with the help of Roxio, the program I have on the computer. It was easy but I had to wait a while until the music was copied on the CD.I was curios to see if the music is there if the job was well done and ...yes "I became a music pirate".

I'm a music lover, I listen to a lot of music and I enjoy it.THE INTERNET AND DIGITAL technology have been both a blessing and a curse for the entertainment industry, opening new opportunities for selling music and video but also fueling rampant global piracy.

A recent study by the Piracy Association of America noted that 75% of software pirates were copied from as kids. "It's an epidemic. If we can't stop this vicious cycle then we'll end up with another generation of pirates."

The sound of the music # 24

Everyone downloads music...its a good way to get the song you want at the same time you want it. I personally don't have a problem with downloading music. If we can do it, why not. Today, music lovers are left but two options: pay list price for an album, or perform what a fan might call a free download and a record company would call theft. I took a look at Napster, ITunes, Radiohead and Amazon. I finally downloaded a song on my computer from music.download.com and after that I transferred it to a branch MP3. I finally checked to see if the song is there and it
was.

Ancient Sea Scorpion Was Bigger than Man

Scientists have uncovered the fossilized claw of a 390 million year old sea scorpion in a German quarry. They estimate that the cannibalistic creature, which has been named Jaekelopterus rhenaniae, was nearly 8 ft (2.5 m) long, making it at least 1.5 ft (46 cm) longer than any previously known eurypterid, or prehistoric sea scorpion. While fossil record has long shown that ancient arthropods were much bigger than they are now, this discovery suggests that prehistoric spiders, insects, and crabs were significantly larger than previously thought.
